For August 2022 we will be reading “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman. Backman is a Swedish author and a New York Times Bestseller, also known for his book “Anxious People.”
This book has been recommended by many people including a dear friend who is an outdoor enthusiast. The story consists of a grumpy widowed man who has an unexpected friendship with his new neighbors (a family and pregnant wife!). The book has notes of grief in it along with loneliness and humor. I’m excited to read it and switch from a parenting book this August!
It’s also been made into a movie that will air this December.
